El Clasico: Real Madrid Suffer A Humiliating Loss to Barcelona In Their Own Backyard

 


Real Madrid took on Barcelona at home in Santiago Bernabéu in one of the most anticipated games of the year, the El Clásico. The game ended in a 4-0 win to Barcelona, with Lewandowski, Yamal and Raphinha all scoring goals.

The Offside Trap
Hansi Flick and his offside trap was a big question before this game against the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr. but the trap worked again. Barcelona successfully had Mbappé offside 8 times and Vinícius Jr. 3 times, in total Real Madrid were found offside 12 times in the game. Mbappé scored twice in the game but was found offside on both occasions. Barcelona has now drawn their opponents offside on 73 occasions, which is the most by any team in Europe's top 5 leagues.

The Front 3 Dominance
After quite sometime now, we can say that Barcelona's front three have been playing really well together. The chemistry is there, the performance is there, and the results are positive. All 3 of, Lewandowski, Yamal and Raphinha have been involved in 39 goals in LaLiga this season. Goals and assists breakdown are, Lewandowski (14 goals, 2 assists), Yamal (5 goals, 6 assists) and Raphinha (6 goals, 6 assists). All three of them managed to score today, a little flashback for Barcelona fans when they had Messi, Suarez and Neymar doing this day in and day out.

Dominating Week
This was always going to be a testing week for Barcelona and their manager Hansi Flick as they had three tough matches after the international break, but Flick and his men succeeded with flying colours. They turned all three games in their favour and all the wins were comprehensive. They beat Sevilla 5-1 at home, Bayern München 4-1 at home and today Real Madrid 4-0 away.

What's Next?
Well, Barcelona is now in the driving seat to win LaLiga after defeating their arch rivals today and leading the league with 6 points. However, the Champions League is still a tricky competition and Barcelona have choked quite a few times in the last few seasons. But with 2 wins in 3 games so far they should still feel confident and should be able to secure the round of 16 spot.

Raphinha Leads Barcelona To A Much Needed Victory Over Bayern München In The Champions League Clash!

 On Wednesday, October 23rd, Barcelona faced Bayern München at home in their third Champions League clash of the season.  Both teams were coming off of a win and a loss in their previous two Champions League games. Barcelona lost to Monaco and won against Young Boys, whereas Bayern won against Dinamo Zagreb and lost to an inform Aston Villa. Before this game, in the last 11 games, Bayern had beaten Barcelona 9 times. The last time culers were victorious against the German giants was in 2015 where they went on to win the Champions League. However, this season Barcelona have looked a completely different side under the new manager, Hansi Flick. He has won 11 out of 13 games already this season.
