Raphinha Leads Barcelona To A Much Needed Victory Over Bayern München In The Champions League Clash!

On Wednesday, October 23rd, Barcelona faced Bayern München at home in their third Champions League clash of the season.

Both teams were coming off of a win and a loss in their previous two Champions League games. Barcelona lost to Monaco and won against Young Boys, whereas Bayern won against Dinamo Zagreb and lost to an inform Aston Villa.

Before this game, in the last 11 games, Bayern had beaten Barcelona 9 times. The last time culers were victorious against the German giants was in 2015 where they went on to win the Champions League.

However, this season Barcelona have looked a completely different side under the new manager, Hansi Flick. He has won 11 out of 13 games already this season.

The front three of Raphinha, Lewandowski and Yamal are doing incredibly well and that is helping the team a lot. Robert Lewandowski who is 36 now was tagged as a finished player by the end of last season, but he has silenced all the haters by scoring 15 goals with 2 assists in 13 games this season. His 15th goal came against his former team, Bayern München on Wednesday.

While Lewandowski, Fermin Lopez and others played a solid supporting role, the hero of the match was Raphinha who scored a hatrrick in the big game. Before the start of the season, he was named one of the five captains announced by the club. As Ter Stegen suffered a season ending injury, Raphinha took over as the team captain and has led the team from the front with his brilliant performance.

Barcelona would be really satisfied with their performance as after the international break they had three tough matches scheduled, Sevilla, Bayern and Real Madrid. They have won the first two and now the big one is next, the El Clásico on Saturday, October 26th.

Will Barcelona continue their great form and defeat Real Madrid in their backyard, or will the star-studded team of Real Madrid put a stop to this unstoppable run of Barcelona? We will find it on Saturday in Bernabéu.
